SOLD! To the gentleman from Germany.
Not something you see for sale everyday this Seamaster CK14755 was missing the bezel but still fetched a good price.
Introduced in 1960 as the successor to the original CK 2913 it is maybe the best choice of the first wave of Seamaster’s with its caliber 552.
Personally I think it was just too expensive in that condition at 958.00 EURO’s, but what do I know!

The increasingly excellent Fratello Watches Blog is one year old today, congrats!
Despite being a Panerai fan [“just fashion watches nothing else”*] Robert still has a soft spot for Omega and moderates over at WUS. I believe Robert was the first person to link to this site which shows he has great taste despite the Panerai obsession.
Happy Birthday!

1. Never trust a jeweller.
2. Appraisals usually have a percentage of value component, there is a clue there.
3. To find the true value start the auction at £1 with no reserve, where in finishes is its value.
As a general tip don’t put a genuine Omega in a fake box, sends the wrong signal.
This timepiece was recently serviced by a high class premier jewellers in my local town centre, costing £200 with receipt to prove, he also appraised the watch for a further cost of £45, and valued the Omega at £5000 pounds with which a certificate is supplied as proof.

And now for sale on ebay, back to Earth with a bump.
The papers that come with this watch have a certificate stating that the following: “On the 1st of July 1993, 35 Omega Speedmaster Professional Chronographs were transported by the Soyuz-TM launch rocket to the space station MIR. They underwent the most stringent tests in the extreme conditions of space, before being returned to earth in the Summer of 1994.”

I hate to say it but me and the Cosmic haven’t been getting along that well lately. I can trace it back to the time I fitted an original Omega Black leather watch strap, nice but…..well boring.
So today in dropped a very cheap strap with a little more of a racey feel to it, on the Cosmic it went and I haven’t had it off since [boom boom!].
Just can’t get Je t’aime out my mind…..
Lots of pictures of the loved one……. Read the rest of this entry »

Get two jobs, you know it will be worth it
I have been a bond fan now for just about 10 yrs. I was 12 when Goldeneye was released, ever since then I’ve been a fan! I remeber my brother and I going to see that movie on opening weekend and afterwards wanting one of those watches from the movie only to find out that Omega watched could not be afforded on a lawn cutting wages.

The exhibition is being held to commemorate the moon-landing. Twenty one limited-edition Omega watches, each decorated with a patch of the NASA mission of which it was a part, are also on display.
