A Happy Speedmaster New Year!
When you come back from a nice extended break what could be better than finding this wonderful Speedmaster waiting for you in your email inbox. A wonderful watch that has ended up in the perfect persons hands. A big thanks to Bob for sharing this great story and of course the great pictures!

I tried to get some close ups of the watch face and bracelet but my camera doesnt have a macro ability This is the original boxes and booklets. I’ll try to send some good pics of the watch later. The story of how the watch was stored for so long is interesting, the lady that I bought the watch from is in her mid fourties, It was her father’s watch, he passed away in the early 70’s his wife just passed away this year(2005) . The watch sat in a safe deposit box since her husband passed away in the early 70’s. When she died her daughter became executer of her estate when the deposit box was opened there sat this watch, neither she or her siblings wanted to keep it ,so it was put up for sale ,I saw the ad,wanted it and bought it.It was only when I took it to a jeweler that I realized the serial number was really from 1970.And after talking to you realized the bracelet was original also. It’s a beautiful watch and I’m proud to own it.I’ve always wanted another Speedmaster Professional (Moon) watch ever since I sold the very first year modle, which I bought just weeks after it’s introduction in1969.I guess that sometimes it takes a while for your dreams to come true.

Since I first sent you this information about this watch,I have really been amazed at how rare this watch, with all of the original boxes and owners manuals,is I am really proud to own it. It is actually in what I would say is pristine condition,it really looks as though it’s never been worn. I hate to admit it but I’m afraid to wear it for fear of scratching it.
I really like your web site and all of the info that’s here KEEP up the good work
Thanks

Great looking watch! I still have my SpeedMaster Omega watch. It is about the same year as yours. It is a manual wind watch. It still works very good and it is in good shape.

Good morning-
my father in law has this great old Omega. Almost looks like a bullhead chronograph. I think it’s from the late 1980’s. Can you tell me where I can find a website with different styles from that era?
Hope this finds you well.
you can contact me at matt.fera@draftfcb.com
thanks in advance

Buyers Beware. I purchased an Automatic Speedmaster Chrono, day/date in July of 2005 and I have never had more issues & regrets from any other purchase in my life. Since I recieved the watch I have had to send it to New Jersey 5 times, each time taking at least 6 weeks. More then 7 Months!! Everytime their so-called Customer Service department gives me the run-around and refuses to replace the watch.
Has anyone else had a similar experience, or any suggestions as to what to do?
