After being seduced by the Apple Powerbook, the computer that has built this site and dealt with all the photography, I purchased new MacBook Pro as soon as it became available. Things being what they are as soon as the 17″ version came out I purchased that as well! Now two MacBook Pro’s is just a little ostentatious so here is my hardly used, almost new MacBook Pro 15″ for sale on ebay.

Over-rated artist but under rated for his watch taste imho

So readers how much will this Omega fetch, any guesses?

The diamond wristwatch worn by rock music pioneer Buddy Holly “the day the music died” will be offered in a public auction by his widow along with over 100 other personal items. Holly was wearing the watch on February 3, 1959, when he and singers Ritchie Valens and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson were killed in a plane crash in Iowa.

“Buddy Holly’s widow, Maria Elena, has consigned the watch, unreleased music recordings and a treasure trove of other personal items that will be offered in a sale, April 14 and 15, to let his legion of fans own a part of Holly’s legacy,” said Doug Norwine of Heritage Auction Galleries in Dallas, Texas (www.HeritageAuctions.com), the firm that will conduct the public auction.

The diamond and white gold Omega wristwatch is inscribed on the back, “Buddy Holly 12-1-58,” the date his bride of four months gave it to him as an early Christmas present.

Strange as I’m not one for complications, don’t own a pink / rose gold watch and prefer a round face but I just have the hots for this wonderful piece from the Omega Museum Collection, in a limited edition of 1,951.

Kennedy wore at his 1961 inauguration for $420,000 US. Without the history that came with it, the watch itself was probably worth $1,000, Faber estimates

I tried to get some close ups of the watch face and bracelet but my camera doesnt have a macro ability This is the original boxes and booklets. I’ll try to send some good pics of the watch later.The story of how the watch was stored for so long is interesting, the lady that I bought the watch from is in her mid fourties, It was her father’s watch, he passed away in the early 70’s his wife just passed away this year(2005) . The watch sat in a safe deposit box since her husband passed away in the early 70’s. When she died her daughter became executer of her estate when the deposit box was opened there sat this watch,neither she or her siblings wanted to keep it ,so it was put up for sale ,I saw the ad,wanted it and bought it.It was only when I took it to a jeweler that I realized the serial number was really from 1970.And after talking to you realized the bracelet was original also.It’s a beautiful watch and I’m proud to own it.I’ve always wanted another Speedmaster Professional (Moon) watch ever since I sold the very first year modle,which I bought just weeks after it’s introduction in1969.I guess that sometimes it takes a while for your dreams to come true.
