Swiss watch exports totaled over 1,009 million SF reports the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry, the first time ever the monthly Swiss export of watches crossed the 1 billion SF mark, a 23 percent rise over April 2004.
During the January-April period exports rose a more modest 9.9 percent to 3.5 billion SF.
The most notable Swiss watchmaker is the Swatch Group, which includes brands Omega, Blancpain, Rado, and Swatch.
