EXCLUSIVE! Seamaster Aqua Terra Competition
So there I was walking innocently down the street when I caught sight of this gorgeous Seamaster Aqua Terra. It was just laying there all lonely and forlorn so I made my mind up to rescue the Omega, take him to a better place [my wrist of course]. Imagine my shock when I discovered this new purchase was gaining 12 seconds a minute, thats right 12 seconds a minute! On closer inspection, through as it turns out the rather handy crystal back, it seems we had a “part” floating about.
The competition, should you choose to take the challenge, is to identify the part from the following images. The prize, the respect of your peers!
Here is the little beauty:

The back shot, can you see it?

Close up, any guesses?

Oh well, back to Switzerland you go!

Just a quick note to say how impressed I am with the pictures, would you mind telling me what camera you used?

Hi John, I use a Fuji S7000, very good on the close up shots although I do need to learn more about lighting, watches are tricky things to shoot.

Greetings: Very interested in Aqua Terra. This watch comes in 3 sizes of dial: 36.2. , 39.2, 42.2 mm.(1) What size is your model?? (2) Also, noticed the second hand has a slightly curved leaf like point which is different from the triangular point on the minute hand. Is that second had an genuine Omega part that came with that specific watch??
Hope to hear from you soon. Regards from a fellow Omega fan

Hi Edward.
Mine is reference 2503.34 which makes it the 39.2, thats about the perfect size for my slightly under 7 1/2″ wrist.
Yes the hands are genuine, Omega have taken many elements from their older ranges with the Aqua Terra. Take a look at the hands on the first pic [a seamaster from 1960] and the hour batons on the second pic [from the late 40’s early 50’s].

Well, Omegablogger, I stand corrected. That second hand is genuine of course. Your photo is far better than the image on the “official” Omega website. If you check that site, you’ll see that the second is parked over a marker, with that wonderfully elegant point lost to the viewer without a magnifying glass. What a shame. Your super photo outclasses the image displayed by Omega. Oh, I have learned that the white dialed version comes only in xlarge 42.2 mm and the 39.2mm model you have. There are what they call ” Mid Size ” versions of the Aqua Terra,36.2 mm…but not with white dial. Correct me if I’m wrong, please.

The floating part is a movement clamp, if the competition is still on. What do I win??

Well the prize was “the respect of your peers!” and you win that!
Drop me your location and I will see if I can find something a little more tangible for you.

That is a very sharp watch, the rose gold markers really make the watch. I’m stuck between one of these and a DeVille, any recommendations?

Do all the Aqua Terra have a crystal back?

Only the Auto ATs have crystal backs, the quartz do not.
A question for you all, what are the hand sizes for an Omege 552 works as i need to replace some on my 69 seamaster but dont know which to order.
